Prevent Child Abuse New York's Training and Staff Development Team is pleased to offer: Workbooks on the Transfer of Learning: from Healthy Families America's FSW and FAW Core Training to Working with Families These practical workbooks for supervisors and managers will assist programs in supporting both new and seasoned home visitors and assessment workers.
Did you know? Training alone is not sufficient to allow acquisition and application of new skills. That is why people rarely return from a workshop able to use new skills and behaviors on the job. More than 80% of job-related learning occurs in the workplace, not in a training room. Learning from training can be significantly increased when there is structured support before and after the event. This helps the trainee apply the new skills and knowledge to real on-the-job situations. Adults learn the most when they perform activities and solve problems connected to actual on-the-job situations. A transfer of learning (TOL) plan helps adult learners make the link between theoretical knowledge and real skills.
The price is $150 and includes: A CD-ROM with the workbook and the Leader's Guide so a program manager, trainer, or state leader can introduce the workbook to groups of supervisors and managers and show them how to use it. This project was originally completed for the Healthy Families New York Home Visiting Program sites and was supported by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. |
