2005 Walk for Children New York

The Walk for Children New York is a fundraising and awareness raising project that takes place in communities across New York State. Walks are organized by volunteers who want to raise money for our important cause and take the message of child abuse prevention to their communities. In 2005, Prevent Child Abuse New York was involved in walks in:
  • Albany, organized by the staff of Prevent Child Abuse New York;
  • The Bronx, organized by Doxene Roberts of WHEDCO;
  • Cazenovia, organized by Heather Regitano of Cazenovia College;
  • Plattsburgh, organized by Lauren Varricchio and the SUNY Plattsburgh chapter of Sigma Delta Tau;
  • Oswego, organized by Katie Jones and the SUNY Oswego chapter of Sigma Delta Tau;
  • Niagara Falls, organized by Mary Sanders of the Child Welfare Office of the Niagara County Department of Social Services.
These events raised more than $10,000 for our work to prevent child abuse and neglect! Plans are already in the works for several 2006 walks.
