Training and Staff Development Specialist - PIRC 

Position Description 

Position title: Training and Staff Development Specialist - PIRC 

Location: Hybrid position based in the Capital Region 

Employee Status: The position is full-time, with a 9am - 4pm workday. 

Reports to: Director of Prevention Development

 

Description:

As a trainer at PCANY, you will work closely with our internal team and external partners across NYS to support our mission to end child abuse with primary prevention efforts. This includes completing deliverables, providing engaging training and technical assistance to programs, and other types of program management deliverables as appropriate. This position requires a multi-cultural, community-based approach to training and handles sensitive topics in a respectful, strength-based, manner.

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the Family Support field.

  2. Have a minimum of 2 years of experience training professionals in the Family Support field. (ex: conference presentations, facilitating staff development/new hire orientation, train-the-trainer, educational series presented to communities. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Dual language preferred, but not required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Google Suite, & Zoom conferencing software

  • Knowledge of and experience in primary prevention, with an emphasis on the socio-ecological model

  • Contributions to development and delivery of targeted and universal technical assistance, such as webinars, virtual and in-person convenings, peer-to-peer exchanges and development of resources or tools.

  • Creation of training schedules for all company departments, tracking and creating reports on all training outcomes and maintaining training records.

  • Ability to operate media & equipment such as projectors, personal computers

  • Knowledgeable about traditional and modern training methods and techniques

  • Knowledgeable about learning management systems, instructional design and e-learning platforms

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, & assess and analyze data

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with individuals representing a range of backgrounds and skill levels.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, while self-managing work schedule to meet deadlines

Other Duties

  • Out of town, overnight travel on a limited basis in connection to project activities, agency business or professional development activities. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Starting Salary: $50,000 - $60,000  annually

 

Preferred candidates will bring a bachelor's degree in public health or related field and 2 - 5 years experience in community based organizations work. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership skills, passion for the work and inspired initiative. The position is 35 hours per week, includes a full complement of benefits and provides a high level of flexibility.  Located in Albany, NY. These positions are open until filled.
