Community Mobilization
Community mobilization is primary prevention to strengthen families because…
We work with organizations and community members to identify and address ways to improve well-being and partnership. At Prevent Child Abuse NY, community mobilization is being operationalized as a capacity-building process through which organizations can partner with families and local communities on a sustained basis to improve well-being and other needs.

We believe in the power of connection and authentic partnerships to make space for elevating family health and decreasing stress. In doing this, we help mitigate the scenarios that could lead to child endangerment.
Empowering organizations and helping with skill building about the impact of positive child experiences and protective factors is a crucial step to disrupting the cycle of Adverse Childhood Experience (ACEs). We work with organizations that serve families to focus on actions they can take that empower partnerships and feedback loops for families to change experiences for the better, instilling hope for a brighter future.
We are committed to providing comprehensive training and technical assistance to professionals, ensuring they have the necessary tools to create nurturing environments for children. At PCA-NY, we work tirelessly to remove barriers for parents and to support the healthy development and prosperity of New York’s children, families, and communities. Our work is rooted in a belief in families and in the knowledge that, given adequate and appropriate resources, all families can thrive, providing a sense of reassurance and support.

With the support of NYS OCFS, PCA-NY provides the Prevention Information Resource Center (PIRC) & Parent Helpline, umbrella programs for helping people throughout New York State understand how to strengthen families, prevent child abuse and maltreatment, and support strong, safe, nurturing families.
The agency addresses individual, community, and societal responsibility through interrelated strategies:
-

-
Training, and Technical Assistance on the Protective Factors Framework
-
