Welcome to the Privacy Policy for Prevent Child Abuse New York™ (“PCANY”, “we” or “us”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose information about users of the PCANY website available at preventchildabuseny.org or any successor site, and the content, applications, services, tools and features available thereon (collectively, the “Services”). For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “you” and “your” means you as the user of the Services.

When you use the Services, we may collect information about you (“Information”), which includes:

In the case of donation payments, we receive the personal information you submit with your donation and the last four digits of your credit card number. 2. How We Collect Your Information
We may collect Information in the following ways:

We collect Information if you sign up for our mailing list; register an account on the Services; sign up for an event made available through the Services; or otherwise interact with us or the Services.

3. Use of Your Information by Prevent Child Abuse America
The ways in which we may use your Information include the following:

To administer your Prevent Child Abuse America account, if you are eligible to sign up for an account on the Services.

To optimize or improve the content, products, services, and features of the Services.

4. Sharing Your Information with Other Companies
We will not share your Personal Information outside of Prevent Child Abuse America except in the following limited circumstances, which you consent to:

When you allow us to share your Personal Information with another company, such as directing us to share your Personal Information with third party online platforms, such as third parties we use to remit donations to us or who organize event registration for us. If you use third party platforms made available through the Services, those third parties will have access to your Information to the extent that you have authorized their access.

When we contract or partner with a third party to provide services on our behalf, which we do for Services development and maintenance. We require all third parties to process your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as permitted by applicable data protection laws.

Our Services may contain links to other online platforms operated by third parties. We do not control such other online platforms and are not responsible for their content, their privacy policies, or their use of your Personal Information. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators except as disclosed on the Services. We expressly disclaim any and all liability for the actions of third parties, including but without limitation to actions relating to the use and/or disclosure of Personal Information by third parties. Any information submitted by you directly to these third parties is subject to that third party’s privacy policy.
6. Children’s Privacy
We do not seek or knowingly collect any Personal Information about children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected Personal Information from a child under 13 years of age, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to delete such information from our database.
If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age who has provided us with Personal Information, you may contact us to request it be deleted.
7. Data Security
We are committed to safeguarding and protecting personal information. To that end we will implement, update, and maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to protect any personal information provided to us from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to personal information transmitted, stored or otherwise processed.
We protect our own confidential information through the use if multiple levels of security controls and classification and ownership standards. We are not responsible for any third party’s actions or their security controls in respect to information that third parties may collect or process via their websites, services, or otherwise. Our security controls are compliant with NIST SP 800-53 standards.
Please note that Information you send to us electronically may not be secure when it is transmitted to us. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to communicate sensitive or confidential Information to us. From time to time, we review our security procedures to consider appropriate new technology and methods. Please be aware though that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We will retain your Personal Information for the length of time needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required, or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, or for legitimate businesses purposes, or as provided by law.
8. Updating This Privacy Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time in which case we will update the “Last Revised” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we make changes that are material, we will use reasonable efforts to attempt to provide notice to you and, where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent. Notice may be by email to you at the last email address you provided us, by posting notice of such changes on the Services, or by other means, consistent with applicable law. However, it is your sole responsibility to review the Privacy Policy from time to time to view any such changes. The updated Privacy Policy will be effective as of the time of posting, or such later date as may be specified in the updated Privacy Policy.
